Cemetery & Parks Meeting
October 12, 2016
Kimball House
The meeting was opened at 7:00PM present were, Tubby Boucher, John Barett, Roger Rapoza, Drew Funk and Pam Haman.
Minutes from the September 12, 2016 were reviewed and corrected. Pam will make necessary changes.
Bills were approved and signed.
Correspondence: Letter to Nashoba Valley Tech was approved and signed.
Appointments: Marianne Brouillette was unable to make the meeting. She had spoken to Roger regarding the veterans sign on the common. She would like to maintain it and add a star for her son who being deployed overseas John Barrett made a motion to allow families with service members to put a star on the sign if space allows. For as long as the sign exist. Tubby second all were in favor the motion carries. Roger will notify Marianne Brouillette.
Discuss:
Tree removal shared expense Table for now.
Riverside Expansion Update: Wood chips placed along the banks, road work being done and loaming. Getting ready to mark rows, Roger would like to dig trenches in each row, pour walls this would help keep stones straight and mark out rows. John asked Roger to research to see if other cemeteries do this.
Tree pruning Riverside Cemetery: Roger has gotten a quote for approximately $1900.00 for the work. It was discussed that other quotes should be obtained. The Department should have other vendors/companies to choose from and not be limited to one should that company not be able to proved services for whatever reason.
Superintendents Report: Concerns about the letter placed in Roger file at the Town Hall by the Town Administrator. Commissioners and Roger feel that they should meet with Town Administrator to further discuss and clarify the issues at hand since Roger is under the jurisdiction of the Commissioners. A special department meeting will be scheduled for 10/20/16 at noon. Agenda items will be response to letter, flags and safety.
Next meeting regular monthly meeting 11/14/16 at 7PM.
